QUICK GARLIC TOAST

Here is how to transforming a humble loaf of bread into garlic bread / toast and trust me this is one way you will enjoy the flavour of the garlic the most; without it being overwhelming.

I have tried garlic bread from many bakeries but I think this rustic way brings forth the flavours, the best.

I believe there are many people who have an aversion for garlic because of its strong pungent flavour. In fact many would caution to avoid it like plague before heading for a date or to avoid it during the daytime. But the interesting fact is that garlic is believed to have aphrodisiacal properties! The only condition is to ensure that you and your partner share it together.

As for me, garlic is THE ingredient and is my favourite. I try using it where ever possible!! I love its warm and pungent aroma fill the house; it is almost seductive if I may say so!

Personally, I prefer the garlic spread on a slice of baguette than a simple loaf of bread. This is what I do to make the garlic spread for the bread
¼ Cup softened Butter
4 fat cloves of garlic, minced (I used plenty!)
½ tsp Mixed Herbs

½ tsp Chilli Flakes (optional)Salt to taste

There is no recipe as such in making of the spread. You need to ensure that the butter is at room temperature. To the softened butter, add minced garlic and other ingredients and incorporate them all well. Spread it on sliced baguette. Bake it in a hot oven (200 to 220 degree) till the top is golden and the bread is well toasted. I prefer it somewhat crisp. Serve it hot.

For kids to enjoy it, sprinkle some grated mozzarella cheese on top and grill it. They will love the crunchy flavourful base and the gooey top.

Note: To take the flavours to the next level, I add some dry mixed herbs to the spread. You can add ¾ or 1 tsp of dry mixed herbs. Or you can add any of your favourite dry herbs such as rosemary or oregano.
